Adelaide’s Outdoor Wedding Venues

There’s a reason Australia is considered one of the most beautiful places on Earth. And from ocean views to arts and culture hubs, lush vineyards to undulating hills, there’s no shortage of awesome when it comes to the great outdoors of Adelaide – which means there’s no shortage of gorgeous outdoor wedding venues in Adelaide, either.

Luckily, as an Adelaide wedding photographer, I’ve been able to spend a lot of my time travelling around all these spaces and finding out which ones are the best. After hours of running about, and careful consideration, here’s what I’ve come up with.

These five spaces I’m about to tell you about are some of the most awesome outdoor wedding venues in the area. The ones that offer all the aesthetics to make your photos their absolute best. Whether you’re into a more urban chic vibe or a fairy-tale style garden, or you refuse to get married without the ocean as your bridesmaid, this list has something for you.

M.T Lofty House Weddings

The best outdoor venue to boast all-inclusive wedding packages in Adelaide. Lifestyles of the rich and famous: when I think of Mt. Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills, that’s what comes to mind. The estates are out-of-this-world gorgeous, and you’re treated like some form of royalty from the moment you arrive. Cobblestone walkways, libraries stuffed with leather chairs for lounging, and suites whose sole purpose is to make you feel like you’ve gone to hotel heaven all create an amazing ambience for the place.

The real draw, though, is the estate in general. Surrounded by trees, vineyards and lush landscaping, it feels as if you’ve escaped to some far off land, despite being only a few miles away from the city. They have all-inclusive packages for weddings to make your day complete, and with so much outdoor beauty, there’s no shortage of places for us to make your wedding day photos as perfect as they could ever be. When it comes to their budget, planning is key, as things can get a wee bit pricey depending on how “all inclusive” you get.

The Manor Basket Range Weddings

One of the best forest wedding venues Adelaide has to offer, complete with castles and fairytale vibes. Okay, so there isn’t an actual castle on The Manor’s forest-like grounds, but it is as close as you can find in Adelaide. Built in 1935, the estate has undergone millions of dollars of restoration and refurbishment to ensure that this place is as modern as a castle could ever be inside, while continuing to maintain the gorgeous forest-like grounds that surround it.

The grounds are nothing short of spectacular, and the castles and mini-castles scattered around make it feel like you’ve dropped into Camelot. In short? The Manor Basket Ridge is the best place to make your fairy-tale wedding happen in real time – and since they have accommodations for hundreds or dozens, much like a fairy tale, this place is made for goldilocks budgets.

Maison De Moon

Let romance take the front seat at this french-inspired country house wedding venue near Adelaide. Modelled on the French country house aesthetic, this stunning outdoor wedding venue in Adelaide offers a bucketful of romance at every corner. From the exposed brickwork of the turreted outer walls to the Monet-esque lake with vintage row boat and all 13-acres of the ‘French undone’ countryside gardens that surround – this is one wedding venue that is sure to live on in your enviable dreams.

The estate has the capacity to host a staggering 600 guests (although as of 14 January 2022, the capacity restrictions may have changed). If you’re after something a little more low-key, then there are intimate wedding ceremony and lunch packages available for smaller groups of 20-40 people.

Bonus: It’s possible to book the house as your wedding accommodation on Airbnb - with the 3 bedrooms offering a luxurious stay for six lucky guests.

Mandalay House & Garden Weddings

Natural beauty meets a timeless European Aesthetic in this stunning garden wedding venue in Adelaide Hills. Located just 45 minutes from Adelaide, Mandalay House & Gardens is a classic wedding venue that utilises the timeless aesthetic of European manicured gardens, while celebrating Australia’s beautiful native flora. From 240 pax sit-down dinners in their marquee to umbrella-shaded cocktail receptions for 150 and dreamily intimate gatherings for 80 in the Ivory Barn - this private property offers a range of spaces to suit a variety of celebrations.

Gorgeous in all seasons, Mandalay offers complete flexibility when choosing your preferred vendors. As an exclusive hire, your chosen photographer, planner, florist and caterer will all have plenty of pressure-free time to prepare for your magical celebration.

Kingsbrooke Estate Weddings

Temporarily closed but hopefully open again soon! - The perfect wedding venue for wedding parties who like to, well party! Self-described as more of a ‘party house than a function centre’, Kingsbrook prides itself on being a ‘lifestyle property, not seriously commercial, more like a home than a facility’. It’s a full service venue with in-house catering, wines and staff, which means after you book – most of your planning is taken care of!

Kingsbrooke has two separate facilities, located 250 metres apart and are equally enchanting. The Orangerie is nestled within the house compound and comes complete with pretty walled gardens and a bunch of windows for natural light. It’s great for smaller celebrations up to 90. The Marquee next to Currency Creek boasts a beautiful stone temple, shaded by ancient gums and surrounded by lush lawns. Offering space for up to 200 guests, their permanent marquee is the perfect blank canvass to plan the rustic-chic wedding of your dreams.
